Fo-Ti (Polygonum Multiflorum, meaning “black head”) is part of traditional Chinese medicine and it is used to retain and conserve natural hair pigment – that is why it´s beneficial in protecting hair from graying. In our organism a male sex hormone called testosterone is converted into highly active substance called dihydrotestosterone, which damages hair roots and is responsible for hair loss in men. Fo-Ti prevents this change and therefore inhibits hair loss.
Fo-Ti also decelerates the ageing process, stops hair loss and muscle atrophy; it lowers cholesterol levels, it helps to prevent atherosclerosis (it prevents blood vessel thickening and clotting) and it decreases high blood pressure (hypertension). Fo-Ti positively affects female fertility and ovulation; it also helps in the treatment of vaginal infections and various inflammatory disorders. It also fights against impotence and increases male sexual activity.
